Happy Anniversary to Us

18 years ago it snowed on a beautiful spring morning. Everyone was late, but arrived safely.

We had a great day with family and friends, from lunch at the "Plumed Horse Inn" to a cultural hall decorated with balloons and rolls of silver foil wrap.

We honeymooned at the Whitmore Mansion bed & breakfast and went hiking at Zions and Bryce Nation Parks. It has been a great 18 years!
This is the best picture I could find of the balloons and silver wrap. Pretty cool, huh?
That is my cute cousin Jamie with my Uncle Phil and Dave's Grandma Anderson behind her.

Am I ready for teenagers!!!

We have officially entered the teenage years. The signs have been there for a while, crankiness, temper tantrums and unexplained emotional outbursts...Bryce is 13!

Pet Peeve of the Week

It has been awhile since I had a pet peeve, so how about this...Missing battery covers. Why are so many things in this house missing the battery covers and when I find a cover why can't I figure out what it belongs to!?

Spring Break-Six Flags

Six Flags was our biggest question mark on this trip. Would it rain all day? Would the rides be shut down because of the weather? Should we go home and come back another time? We didn't decide until Saturday morning what we would do, but decided to take a chance and headed to the park. It turned out great, nicely overcast most of the day and not too crowded. We seemed to have out grown the kiddie rides though. While we were in "Wiggle's World" Dave asked Brett what he wanted to ride next and he said, "Anything that is not here!" He is quite the rollercoaster rider and loved the road runner coaster and especially the "Tony Hawk Big Spin" coaster. All of the kids tried something new and Ty was surprised to discover that the Superman coaster was his favorite! Sorry, no pictures, but it just wasn't worth the trouble to carry the camera around. We followed the rain all the way home, but never caught up with it. We did take one highway exit that was very flooded and I was pretty nervous about driving through it! We arrived home very tired at 10:45pm Saturday night.

Spring Break- The Alamo

We really did not know what to do on Friday, because it was supposed to be really rainy. We thought we should do something inside and settled on the children's museum and the Alamo. The grocery store at the museum had real scanners, so Dave and the kids had a contest to see who could spend the most "money". Dave had a good plan, by scooping up all the sun screen, unfortunately they didn't scan and Ty beat him by about $6.
Bryce and Dave building a log cabin.

Paige and Brett went back several times to make and remake this arch.

It was a little cold and drizzly at the Alamo, but we thought it would be good for the kids to learn about and see. We thought about going to the nearby Imax movie about the Alamo, but again we were too cheap to spend the $10+ per ticket. Luckily they had a short film at the Alamo and that along with a tour guide gave us plenty of (free) information.
This well was probably the first thing built at the Alamo. The kids were very patient and although it wasn't there favorite thing, they enjoyed it.

Spring Break-Sea World

We talked for days about getting away to San Antonio for Spring Break, but we didn't know if Dave would need to be at work or if the weather would cooperate. The kids were glad when despite of concerns about lots of rain we got on the road Wednesday afternoon. Thursday we spent the day at Sea World. Brett was really excited about the shows and the rides. We got splashed by Shamu (cold!), laughed at the sea lions and Walrus and loved the dolphins and acrobats. Brett LOVED this ride and rode it three times in a row at the end of the day. Paige and I skipped it, not wanting to be cold and wet!
Bryce and Ty loved the "Great White" coaster and Brett wished he was big enough to ride.

We tried to get the dolphins to come close even though we were to cheap to buy fish to feed them.

The seals and sea lions barked at us!

A Beautiful Easter Day

Our day was full: a beautiful morning, wonderful day at church, lots and lots of rain, lots of chocolate, lots of game playing and lots of silliness!
